Fair enough rincewind, but it is also the british fans that are the first to destroy the british drivers if they slip up or have a bad season. Just last year it was button is a bum and is useless, and now he is the best thing since sliced bread all of a sudden.
Aaaaw! Poor lewi. Will somebody please get him a juice box. Oh and Lewi, not only did you lose by the skin of your teeth in 2007, you also won that way in 2008.
Good comments here. I think we all know if there is a breakaway, which series we would be watching. Why would we want to watch a series called F1 with pathetic no-name teams that nobody cares about. I hope this does happen and I am sure the fans will follow. That should end B&M's little playtime and send them in to a rwetirement of embarassment.
Nicely said davratta! I am with you.
Looks like the last season of F1 for everyone summerss. Unless you want to still call that glorified GP2 racing that they will call F1, F1? At least some teams are sticking up for what they believe and not just bending over and taking it.
Way to try and dilute our sport you old idiot! This sux! I am all in for a breakaway series and you know which one I will be watching. This guy doesnt care whatsoever about the fans!
As much as I would hate to see my team leave F1 after soo many years of racing, they are right and I support them in this decission. Where they go, I will follow. Unfortunately this might be the only way Max learns his leason. I just hope the other teams leave to and we can start fresh with a BREAK AWAY!!! Coz afterall this is F1, not F-anyone!
Nicely said cam2000cc, very true.
OK just relax ilAlfisto, no need to wet yourself. Ill get you a juice box.
Bernie threatening someone again? Big surprise.
Well said NickUSA. I couldnt agree more. They seem to want all teams on a level playing field. Like KonmaN pointed out, there is a reason some teams are above the rest, years of experience and many seasons to build themselves up to where they are. No FIA wants to make it too easy for a no-name brand team to come in from nowhere and be as competitive as the rest. Not because they put the time in but because the other teams have been limited to their level! In every sport you have a heirarchy in the field, and there is a reason for that. If the lower teams cannot handle that, then go to NASCAR. Just doesnt seem fair to me.
I am no Mclaren fan, and perhaps the ruling was a bit light but I believe it to be fair. They were open, appologetic and honest after the fact and I trully believe they are sorry. Slap on the wrist is good enough for me! Last thing we need is the old boys of F1 to go and it be taken over by new teams. Although it hurts me to say it, Mclaren are a huge part of F1 and it wouldnt be the same without them. Finally a level headed ruling in F1! Hope they keep that up.
I will have to agree with robson here to. They must be kicking themselves right about now.
Totally right summerss. I almost hope they do break away. Ill be watching the same as you.
.....and whats your reason for doing it summerss?
Wow arrogant coments from an American? Never heard of such a thing! For your information Gordan its what you people call 'soccer' the name of the game is football. What you call football is actually a bunch of 'men' wearing lots of pads, helmets and tights pushing each other around. Want a real game try rugby. and what do you mean by 'you people'? Everyone else in the world? Come on man pick up a globe once in a while and you will reallize there is more to this planet than your dying country. That reminds me, shouldnt you be hiding in a corner with the rest of 'you people' saving your pennies? Just remember its comments like this that give the US a bad name.
I really hope they do not get thrown out. This would kill F1 (at least beat it down more). I doubt weather the other teams even want to see that. Just slap them on the wrist, give them a warning and get on with the racing! Its obvious that they screwed up, but it is even more obvious that they did not do it intentionally. I agree with ARNETT on this one.
"We all know how to win races and Championships". Well you might know how to win races (and dont get caried away coz 3 is nothing special)......but championships? Wow Jenson you sound as arrogant as another british driver I know....hmmmm. Little too cocky for my liking! Lost some respect right there.
Im with donwatters on this one. There is no way this is good for the sport. Just leave it alone already FIA please.
Nice Vettel, Nice! Refreshing Kimi-esk comment.
There he appologised! Now can we all get over this already! Its gone far enough! I just want to see some good clean racing with no interference.
OK look, so I am by no means a Lewi fan but the guy made a mistake and f-d it up a little. I do not believe he did it intentionally. I have always said this guy was not ready to be put in an ace car right off the bat, regardless of his talent (which is apparent). But none the less, I hope all my fellow Ferrari fans will agree (well hopefully) throwing Lewi/Mclaren out of the season would NOT be good for the sport. Leave the poor kid alone and let them deal with this on the track. After all it is not a sport without some healthy competition eh? Seldom I agree with spacedmansplif, but can we just get back to why we are all here! RACING!!!!! Enough with the polotics already FIA just let them race!
Nice to see the Ice-man showing some true form. Go on Kimi I still got faith you boy!!!! On another note I think the FIA would be extremely stupid to throw Lewi out. No, I havent changed my opinion on him but I have to say the kid is good for the sport.
This is getting rediculous! Leave the poor kid alone FIA.
OK even though I believe the decision to throw them out to be harsh, and I dont think they intentionaly withheld info from the FIA. But please for crying out loud can we for once leave the Ferrari/FIA conspiracy junk out of this? They managed to throw themselves out. C'mon guys some of you need to get a grip and get back in touch with reality.
Some of you Lewi lovers are priceless! First a controversial decision against your golden boy last year and we all hear the crying from accross the world. Now the same type of incident reversed and I can still hear the crying!!!! What happened to the FIArrari eh? Looks like they have switched sides and are now Mclaren supporters? Now you can all be happy. Come on you lot gain some concisterncy or just do us all a favour and shut up! Lewi did nothing wrong here - just what he was told. A car does not need to be off the track to imply a problem. Merely pulling off racing line and slowing is enough to imply a problem. Therefore Jarno cannot be blamed either. Mclaren are the only ones here that did not understand the rules. I dont say they should be punished, nor Lewis. Jarno should have been given 4th. That would be fair.
Well said nando, well said
I am a Ferrari fan but you guys are right, if these teams were smart enough to interpret the ruling to their benefit within the guidlines, well, then, good for them! So I agree Ferrari, Renault and the rest should now stop moaning about it and do the same! Or shut up.
I do think Lewi is a really good driver and I dont think he is saying anything wrong here. I think its important to keep your options open nomatter what the circumstance. The only thing he did wrong was pledge himself completely to Mclaren. This to me does not show aggogance or stupidity but instead immaturity. Which I cannot say I am surprised about.
I am a huge Kimi fan but Ferrari are right to be handing him these types of threats. Hopefully we see the real Kimi this year.
Typical Bernie yapping away in his own world ignoring everyone else! I for one am not surprised about anything that comes out of his mouth. Thank you deepwater for your comment. I think that sais it all. Anyway I dont even care what anyone sais right now coz we got less than a week till we go again and nothing can get me down now!!!!!!
CrazyJoeDavola not a bad line up at all. Maybe Kyalami on there as well. But the rest - spot on. Cut these stupid cookie cutter tracks off the circuit! Its too obvious its all about the $$$$$$$ for Bernie! Why else would you hold a grand prix in a country (or kingdom) where nobody gives a flying crap about racing? I am not European but I would prefer to see all the races there rather than in places they are not appreciated. That little troll is on a mission to destroy our sport! I cannot wait for the lights to go out though! I am really running out of stuff to do!
Once again we all jump to conclussions when we know little about track conditions, fuel loads and all the other variables involved. Personally I want all the teams up there fighting for wins. Makes for better racing! Oh and summers you are the king of jumping to conclussions. DarkDefender - goog on you.
I think one Lewi is enough. Bring another one in and summers might actually wet his panties.
Is that Lewi in the kitty litter again? Hmmmm.......very interesting.
Personally as a Ferrari supporter I do not want to see Mclaren doing soo badly right now. The only reason I watch is for the competition. I hope they sort their problems out so we can have a good competitive season (thats not saying the other teams will not be as competitive).
Heiki doesnt stand a chance at anything close to a win unless the Hamster is behind him. Rons little golden boy must have preferential treatment after all. He should go hang out with Rubens and they can cry in a corner together. I dont think he has much to worry about anyway if things keep going the way they have been. Winning looks far fetched for Macca right now. But stranger things have happened.
I think we can all agree on this
Looks like its going to be a tight season of racing! Should be good! Good luck to the Brawn boys!
Summerss, are you just talking to yourself? How would you know if this is over our heads when you were the first one to post anything? Wake up man! At least wait until somebody has posted something before you tear into everyone. You seem to take this Ferrari hating thing too seriously. I suggest relaxing off the red for now coz when the lights go green I expect you to be seeing a lot more of it.
You show em whose boss KIMI!!!!
Good on them! Nice to see them on the grid. I never have been a huge fan of Button but he really showed here that he is a class act. My respect for him has gone up quite a lot. Good luck boys!!
I have to agree, it does not sound like he thought this one through properly. Stick to driving Massa.
This is good news! Good on you boys! I do have to agree with Rochester though, what exactly does this mean? I am probably being paranoid but if there is one thing I do know its I dont trust that little troll.
You tell em Kimi!!!!!
Good for them, and us. The more teams the better. Feel pretty bad for them that they spent all this time developing this years car and then didnt get to test it properly. Good to see Jense not sitting on the side lines.
Once again there is crying about somebody being mean to poor little Lewi and then follows the Ferrari bashing. You can not complain about somebody slating your boy and then turn around and do the exact same thing! Either just slate them or complain. Not both! Some concistency please.
Peter Windsor really aggravates me for some reason. Stupid sweaty little man. He is Australian after all for god sake! What is he doing pretending he is American? I agree this all US team sounds aragogant and mark my words on this one......The colour scheme will be....wait for it.......stars and stripes!!! What a surprise. I see 2 years and then dissolution. Especially if speed comes back. Oh and Enginman Ill take that risk and go ahead and belittle the Top NASCAR drivers, somehow I am not worried about eating words.
saphrox, DC retired and so got a send off. Rubens did not retire and still wants to be in F1. I guess that is the difference. RB should just admit defeat and retire officially already. Then maybe he would get a send off.
This is good. We must all agree that losing teams is bad for the sport and I think the Virgin enterprise will be a welcome addition to the grid! Good on you Branson.
You Lewi lovers are still soo sensitive arent you? Now dont get me wrong even though I am not a fan, I respect the guy, hell I might even go soo far as to say I even like him, but that doesnt mean I want to buy him flowers and take him home with me. Please wipe up the drool its not flattering.
I am soo glad all us Mclaren and Ferrari and Renault fans can come together and agree on our hate for the two money-men as SteveJeeper soo correctly stated. This really is one of the best ideas I have heard in a while.
This means nothing! Kimi put in a 1:32.1 on the final day there so this just shows it is clueless to try and judge anything from these tests. Some of you will bite at anything!
I agree. What was the point of testing Sato? Pointless! I miss Sato but I am glad they gave Seb another shot. Hope he does good for himself.
Just another useless twisted story about nothing by P-F1 to get all you Lewi lovers in a fit. Surprise, surprise it worked! Some of you will believe any old BS wont you? All you have to do is mention Lewis' name and Ferrari in the same sentence and just watch you all pee your pants! Pretty entertaining actually.
If you ban refuelling then you must ban tyre changes as well otherwise you still have thje same spectacle, just shorter and not as exciting! Does anyone know if this will indeed shorten the races? Im not sure.
As a Ferrari fan I think it would suck if Mercedes were to drop out! Im sure MClaren would find a suitable replacement but Im sure their performance would be hurt this late in the game. Nobody wants to see that! Competition is what this is all about. No competition = no racing IMO.
I think this is good. These guys need to ban together to try and trump Max and Bernies dimensia. They can play as nice as they want off the track in my opinion, as long as the teeth come out when the lights go green!!!
This really is the dumbest discussion ever! Yes the medal system sucks. Right? I think we can all agree? So inclease the points gap between 1st 2nd and 3rd!!! Why is this soo hard to get? How about 12 points for first, 8 for second 6 for third and minus one down for the rest. I think that will be a nice incentive to put it all on the line! (at least to those who tend to take the more prudent aproach).
Makes sense in theory but I think fitznstarts said it best. It is going to be a dilly trying to police this thing with cars spread all over the track. Cars unlapping themselves and all! I guess we will see though. Typical FIA, over thinking the issue and trying to over complicate things.
Although I do not agree with a lot Ron has to say. I will say he nailed it here. Impartial FIA members all around! We need this for our sport to gain back its credibility!
Aaaaaaaaw! Come on...... lets hug it out.
Thank you Velocityboy somebody had to say it.
Ill give him props for getting out there and competing with little chance of glory against some of the others. Good luck too him. For all the Kimi haters just remember its more than what Lewi is doing isnt it?
Yes summers lets all generalize with our blinders on shall we? Come on man how about you give it a rest. I didnt think there was such a thing as a sore winner but SOME (note: not a generalization) Mclaren fans have proven me wrong in that respect. Quite un-flattering really.
Firstly you should be sorry judging from your last comment Howee and I dont expect anything from you but childish slating comments. Just rehashing old news gets..well, old!!
Wow 2008 season has been done for a while and still you idiots go on with this! Scratch and sniff, (ie howee and spacedman) will you and robson please take it up on the playground and spare the sest of us.
Well spacedmansplif you clearly havent been watching F1 for very long then have you? Probably havent been alive long eh? Well thats OK we got lots of other kids for you to play with around here. I think I saw little robson around a minute ago...
Wow Kimis bringing out a lot more haters lately. Hope he finds good form next year. and for those who dont know this isnt his first time in a rally car.
Well thanks for the Bio biso, but even though johnny might have been a bit harsh, he did have a good point. In all fairness did any of the drivers he mentioned start out in arguably the best car no the grid either? mute point!
Yeeeeeeah Highfive Im gonna have to get you to go ahead and wake the F up! Look what you are comparing?
I think it is quite obvious that Alonso is the best pound for pound racer in F1.
This one is a good one. Firstly Freak_666 you are absolutely correct. I also recall little taunting and abuse from Ferrari fans last year when we won. All I see here are extremely bitter Mclaren fans that love to gloat and brag as if they had anything to do with golden boy barely (and I mean barely) winning a championship. Grow up you lot, win with some dignity coz its not flattering at all. Secondly why is anyone surprised at this no-story! OOOH voted the favourite, big f-ing deal! Am I the only one that can see this is pure bandwaggoneering here? When Schumi won guess who was the favourite then? Sporting fans are dominantly pathetic and run for the guy who is winning! Come on already this is pathetic! Too easy to predict. Actually makes sense...most of the arrogant, gloating, Lewi-Loving dribble spouted on here you can bet comes from band waggon fans. Thats right I said it and you know it! I bet MP4_23 knows exactly what I am talking about dont you child?
Im really surprised that you all still fall for Robsons trap every freakin time! Are you all that stupid that you cannot see that he is trying to wind you up and will say anything to get you going? Come on people! If you didnt take the bait he wouldnt have much effect now would he? As it stands half of the comments are about him. Some even start about him before he has even posted anything in anticipation of his mindless dribble! I am a Ferrari fan and I cannot stand his tripe! I think AdHock has said it best.
Now I am not sure if any of you Ferrari haters are actually reading this but if Max and Berni were such great friends with Ferrari and together rig the entire sport, then could one of you please tell me why Luca is the most vocal and passionate about getting rid of them? Seems counter productive to try and get rid of your supposed allies now doesnt it?
Nicely said alternatego! Couldnt agree more.
I just spent 2 months in SA and it was awsome! No trouble at all! Its amazing how the media can blow thing soo far out of proportion that people actually become terrified to go there! Kyalami is on of the great tracks I just love it there and always used to go there for winter testing and the GP's. I would love to see F1 go back to a place that really cares about racing instead of always going to countries in the east where they struggle to fill seats (with locals at least)! I always remember Kyalami selling out months before the grand prix! As for SA being soo far away! I think that is a bit nieve concidering the price for a ticket to SA from London is less than that to Australia/Malaysia. So that really doesnt make too much sense. Bring F1 back to the countries that care and have awsome tracks (Canada, US, SA)! Not the ones that pay Bernie the most.
HAHAHA!! Nice Alifisto! Button has already proven himself a good team player and has the experience that right now Mclaren might want. I dont know if you want Heiki changing tyres though. Maybe fetching drinks or something less important.
Nicely said stream! If they got to pay that cash out anyway, why not run the car that they have been working on for a long time now? Even if they only spend in 09 what they would have had to pay out, they would still benefit rather than just throw 100m away! Makes no sense. Ill agree with Robson on this one as well, if they were stupid enough to sign Button for three years when it was clear tough times were ahead, then they do deserve the position they are in.
Well said deepwater330. Chickv I dont know what you were watching last season but who won the WCC?
What is wrong with a budget cap? Why not but a cap on the teams budget so they all have the same amount to work with each year and let them do the best they can within that budget. Then we will see teams getting really creative in design and cost cutting to maximize their budgets. Cuts out the need for all these other rules, or am I missing something?
spacedmansplif get over your obvious schoolgirl love for Lewi and think for a second before you post coz you sound quite ignorant. I heard and saw exactly what I expected from these early tests. If you actually knew anything about F1 then you would see that you cannot judge much from these early runs. So lets stop making wild claims about next season before its even started. Oh and I am sorry for whatever Kimi has done to you because it must have been quite serious to make you all hurty feelings about him.
Wow I didnt think it was possible but some of you Mclaren fans are even bitter when you win! Quite pathetic really.
Thank you Piglet you said it right. He knew exactly what he was getting into when they signed him up! After all he was the one that signed the contract stating that he was to be No 2 to Msc! Nobody held a gun to his head! I guarantee if he had turned down Ferrari, he would be regretting it right now as a winnless ex-driver that nobody would remember.
MisterNeo how exactly does this change help Ferrari even more? When you start a post with a stupid comment, you lose all credibility and end up just looking like, well, an idiot!
I agree that we need a change in the FIA but do these new additions actually change anything? Seems like they just picked a few existing rules and tweaked them ever so slightly to make it appear like they are changing something? I dont really see much difference. Am I missing something???
Wow they are reaching for stories now that the season is over eh? This really is E news. Oh and Robson dont be stupid obviously his dad was there. Has he ever not been? Peterson I hope you are a woman coz your feelings are showing.
Chylout nice post...fully agree!:)
Talbie I am guessing you are a Lewi fan right? Could you please explain to me why Kimi didnt deserve his championship and Lewi did. Coz what I saw was one driver winning more races than any in his title year and enduring 2 mechanical failures as well while the other tried hard to throw it away 2 years in a row and lucked his way into a championship coz of some rain (can you tell which is which?). So you think Lewi is a more deserved champion? Even after you just say that Kimi won because Lewi SCREWED IT UP!!! How does that make him a more deserved champion? He didnt even win the most races this year!!! Please look at all the fact first coz as it stands anyone who calls Kimis win less deserved than Hamiltons just looks pathetically stupid and bitter. Any self respecting F1 fan can see that so grow up or get out.
Wow thats rich coming from you eggnham. Take your own advice.
tayF1, personally I like to watch F1 for the races not the controvercy, but thats just me. Its statments like that that REALLY make me want to read more of what you have to say....
He is a class act! Also the same goes for Lewi gracious in winning as well as defeat. I remember him congratulating Kimi after the brazil last year and I thought that was also classy.
danguy81 I understand what you are saying with the No2 drivers and all but seriously man what the hell do you think Mclaren are doing keeping Heiki around???? Do you think Mclaren would even concider letting him compete against Lewi? (and if I were them I wouldnt either) Its how this sport is. Seriously some people gotta think before they post. Getting rediculous.
Oh the irony (sigh) Morality is this your way of being fair minded? 'It is and has always been clear that Massa would stoop to the lowest and not jeoparise any underhanded gift he received so long as he can win the championship. If any decent person expected Ferrari to play fair on any biased decision from the FIA - dream on. Ferrari will never bite the hand(FIA) that feeds them'. Coz if it is, then you are no better than the tripe you spew out!
You know some of you Mclaren/Lewi fans should take your own advice some times. No I don¿t agree with Robson and the rest of the whining bunch about Glock conspiracy and about Lewi being an undeserving champ but I saw just as many from the other side of the fence last year with the same kind of rubbish against Kimi. Now you jump on those who even dare not to say congrats! I don¿t recall many congratulations last year from Mclaren fans to Kimi. All I remember was bitter sad pathetic comments about how he didn¿t deserve it because of blah, blah, blah. And now I see the same from the other side! And lets not even get into controversy! OMG is it rich coming from both sides! Now I am not saying this regards everyone here, actually (thank God) there are some level headed intelligent individuals who can win/lose graciously and don¿t look for excuses! I am not trying to make anyone change their opinions or anything, I just don¿t get the hostility here? All I ask is that we don¿t generalize all Ferrari fans as the same as I do not generalize about all Lewi/Alonso/Mclaren/whatever fans. It¿s just tasteless and shows lack of intelligence to be perfectly honest (that goes for both and all sides). Unfortunately we have seen a lot of racism this year and last. Which (I hope) none of us condone. But remember racism is a mass generalization in itself. My 2 cents.
BigBangBaby you are an idiot. Kimi won more races than anyone last year and won by one point. Lewis did not win the most races. Get your facts straight first please. Now I dont like Lucas involvment in F1 as I do think he is an idiot but wow do I ever see extremely bitter Mclaren fans here. Your boy won!! Enjoy it! Stop getting soo workrd up over nothing! This championship aside I think I would like to see more incentive to win races. Thats what it is all about isnt it? Balls to the walls, all or nothing! (cue Mclaren fan backlash........)
Maurice Although I agree that the glock conspiracy thing is a load of rubish, I cant help thinking that it is very rich of a Mclaren supporter to be laughing at the concept of a conspiracy theory. You really need to think before you post! Or on the other hand save us all the time and dont!

Well said CooperS, well said! Im with you.
