no summerarse i never said australians rule F1 yet ferrari engineers like dyer come from ballarat which was in australia when i last drove thru it. also brabham was based in britain to be close to the racing but the repco engine that powered it was made in melbourne. also stoddart comes from coburg which is also in melbourne

robson did you realise that Ferrari are not an Australian team. Did you also realise that Brabham based his team in Milton Keynes which is in Great Britain, not some Australian city where there is no racing or engineering talent. If you also look at the history of F1 you'll find that Australia has achieved nothing since 1980 and very little which is not down to Brabham. Hardly supports your theory that Australians rule F1 now does it.

Hey Robson, Who won the 1999 European Grand Prix?

chylout you idiot. stoddard didn't have the money to take minardi to the next level, whereas berger was backed by a billionaire with STR. also i was only comparing drivers that became team owners & i dont recall stoddard driving an F1 car but have no doubt if he had would have been more than competitive with hamilton in identical machinery.

Stewart made a fortune. He sold his taem for alot more then his sponsors put in..The hbc(hong-kong bank). Steward grand prix had 1 win(hebert) and 3 podiums (including a 2cd place in Monaco.Jaquar paid big dollars for the team.. PS Bernie Eclstone was a team owner with very litle results

HaHa Robson shows his usual complete lack of knowledge of our sport, of course Jackie Stewart won at the Nurburgring in 1999 with Johnny Herbert and picked up third with Rubino in the same race!! He then sold the team to Ford for a reputed $100 million which collected a tidy profit. I wonder if our good friend has ever heard of a young New Zealand racing driver called Bruce McLaren, the team he founded has won the odd championship or two! I do agree though that Sir Jack was brilliant in every respect.

Robson, Stewart Grand Prix won a race in its final season before it was sold to Ford and became Jaguar. And Stewart built the team from scratch, unlike STR who bought Minardi, so hardly a failure for Jackie Stewart to create a team and have its first win within 3 seasons

Hmmm Robson of course you're right about the Australians. Sorry, struggling to keep a straight face... since you like living in the past - can you recall how the above Austrian has taken a team formerly run by an Australian (Stoddard) and taken it to 6th in the WCC and to its first win and pole?

i'm glad you got out berger. all the ex drivers like prost, stewart & fittipaldi have been failures as team owners & i'm sure they lost money over it. at least berger got out with a win as team owner which is more than we can say about the others (except brabham), but then australians are exceptional & should not be confused with austrians
