I dont think this will be a good weekend for Brawn, I might be wrong but Ive a feeling it will be cold, damp and they'll be just that crucial bit off the pace
leatherface I have to agree with you. We saw in the likes of Bahrain and Barcelona, when Vettel is stuck behind someone he stays there and doesn't even look like he's challenging the guy in front. Take Bahrain - Button leapt past Hamilton but Vettel was behind him for a stint, looking like he was content with getting past at the stops. Trouble was he then got stuck behind Trulli who was on the wrong tyres yet still didn't challenge. I hope he proves me wrong as he's blindingly quick in clear air and a nice guy to boot, but so far he just seems mega-quick but not at all racy.
As much as I have grown to dislike the German Anthem, I really hope the youngster shows them all a clean set of heels. Good luck to him.
In Michaels shoes in many ways I agree...except that he doesnt cheat nearly as much as Michael did.... ;-)
sebastian is a great driver but i feel he is slightly overrated, i get the feeling that hes a lot like massa in the sense that if hes not on pole he doesnt have a chance, maybe he'll prove me wrong but i just dont see the overtaking ability that you see in hamilton or alonso. but i hope that will come in due time
I guess this is the litmus test for Redbull this weekend!, the Nurburgring is a track that on paper would favour the Brawns, so if Redbull has caught them in terms of mid-speed corners we could yet have a race on our hands!, Vettel will be on a mission, you can tell he really wants to win at home! Does anyone know the weather forecast for it?.
People have been calling Seb Vettel the "new Schumacher". Let's see if the lad can fill the Nurburgring with as many fans as Schumi did. If the German Grand Prix is a sell-out, I don't care who wins.
I would like to second 'f1billy' in saying "Good luck, Seb". I have enjoyed F1 for nearly 40 years and enjoy "watching the racing". For me, the 'excitement' is during the race and if the "best man wins" I am pleased for them. This year there are a lot of contenders who I would like to see on the top step of the podium. Although Brawn are dominating we're seeing some good racing further down the field with 3 World Champions fighting for lowly points (if any) and we're seeing a lot of new talent getting the oppertunity to race at the front. F1 isn't all about winning (for me, anyway) there's the history and strategy that comes into the equasion and that's what add's up over the season or for a "surprise" race win etc. I'm behind FOTA and feel there motives ARE in the right place. I'm sure, they DO NOT WANT TO RUN or TAKE OVER F1. But after the drivers THEY are the ones who the fans follow. The FIA are their to insure a reasonably level playingfield and adherance to the rules as set out. They should be far more in the BACKGROUND and not be looking for maximum publicity to boost their own egos. They are the REFEREE and should not forget their position.
Good luck Seb! Here's a man in Michael Schumacher's shoes: hard working and down to earth with loads of racing talent.
