Drop this year Martin old boy, there is no sense in wasting money on it
Yes, but they need to do it NOW, it's July already.
Hell we have some clowns on this forum, ironic then that they can't recognise a joke when they see it
It makes my mouth water, Fernando in a fast car again. But if they plan on inviting Vettel, there's going to be the same problems there were at McLaren with Lewis. Alonso does not like competition from his team mate. This is quite possibly the only reason that Nelson still has a drive... Even keeping Kimi/Felipe in the team might cause problems.
You were pushed
yeah right, and I suppose your divorce will also end in a good compromise... ouch that's cruel
SC00BYD00, are you new here boy ??? I have no words... I hate Ferrari like they stole my chew toy, but Luca is right with this and I am 100% behind him.
jip, seems like he's lost some marbles
Music to mine ears
You are the reason for the chaos clown
I'm very excited
All the best to them, and well done for standing up to Max. I hope they can pull it off
timellis, I think you'll find no one tells Alonso what to say, they might have asked him to say this though. There is a difference between the independent teams of the past like McLaren, Williams, Benneton, BAR who chose to compete with Ferrari on equal footing and the "independant teams" of next year that will be helped into competition by forcefully reducing the yearly spend below previous years' entry fee.
rincewind, i'm not british, but you have a good point, no one is saying "it's the car" when Massa is driving. Felipe has improved a lot since his Sauber days, but I havn't heard one claim of "it's the car" where he is concerned.
bikerbaz, you mean he hasn't got what it takes to WIN gracefully. and you are 100% right
silverarrow, it's a comedy piece, and the WMSC doesn't meet for biscuits and a giggle every two weeks, so I think it's not too far from the truth.
seems they budget capped the PR team. one sentence each.
As with many good things in life... "This exercise has demonstrated that the only reason there have been vacancies on the F1 grid for many years was the excessive cost of participation" we're dealing with superior intelligence here people.
between "Nakajima waited several minutes for the Williams mechanics to pimp his ride" and "Lewis Hamilton looked like he was driving something with the directional stability of an Asda supermarket trolley on rough shale" I think AD needs an award
AD you're a legend
@Cyrano, It seems Mark Webber is right, it is difficult for the average person to understand
@GPunsalan - I think the fact that Ferrari, Renault, McLaren have changed their diffusers without making a difference (Ferrari changed other stuff too) proves that Brawn is not winning this on a technicality. Please give credit where it is due, Honda spent millions on this car and Ross Brawn is the best in the business.
For the love of all that is holly Frank ???
Why does Rubens feel the need to tell us why he lost ??? I don't see anybody else stepping up in such detail every time they don't win.
Nelson, now i have even more respect for you
hell Robert, you are already so popular, this will kick things into high gear
i think you're blowing hot air bernard, if honda could claim difficult financial times... i'm sure the red team could pull it off too. Haha thomas998, I love that boy
oops, what now.
chickv, McLaren gave the FIA US$100 000 000, they are not "having difficulty survive itself" (sic) and Ferrari are not scared of competing on equal footing, they are scared of a championship where there are two tiers, where the FIA can decide which tier is faster because they make the rules. Hell people, I hate the red team more than anyone. but WAKE UP, they are right on this one.
Since 1978 robson, and here we all thought you were born in 1997
Bulldog, I think you should read the article. Not even the whole thing, just the part in bold at the top. Ferrari are not going to leave because they want to spend money
Well well, iron balls Luca steps forth
Martin saying the stuff Lewis should be saying, positive stuff
owsiak, how about Italian teams and German drivers, as pointed out in the article ?
Hi Paveran, apologies for my ignorant post, next time I will think before I type. I have tasted my own medicine and it is bitter... I cannot thank you enough for opening my eyes.
mattsr you clown, Le Mans cars have headlights, and a 'normal' driver position. You can't see a thing out of an F1 cockpit as it is.
I think Luca needs to sit down with Ron, so Ron can explain to him that Max doesn't loose
I guess Max won...
Thank all that is holy. I hope McLaren stop their nonsense now.
Yes we want to avoid injuring "corner workers", injuring marshals is a different matter altogether.
RichyS, took the words right out of my mouth.
I'm glad you think McLaren will be on the grin in Spain
So robson and beesknees, you both agree then that a driver has no role in developing the car. interesting to say the least. i think you need to take hour head out of your ... and stop agreeing just because something in red is speaking.
Kimi, i'm a great fan of yours. Having said that, I think that Fernando would disagree. DC didn't claim that he himself accompished anything, but with 15 years experience in F1 I think he knows what he's talking about, even if he himself might have been useless.
Congrats Sebastian, you deserve it man.
This is very sad yes, well hopefully with Ron gone the FIA will stop being so hard on McLaren. I think Ron realised this and that's why he is taking off. I'm not sure I buy all the hamilton doesn't like dennis spin...
I think people should stop approacing Charlie Whiting about anything other than where to buy a blue shirt (yes i know it's official dress...) because really... has he come through for anyone in the recent past ??
Spot on with the paranoia comment, AD. Any other driver would have just passed Trulli and never given it a second thought.
I don't want to watch anymore. really, this is such a mess
deepwater330, well said sir. There really is no way out of this mess
deepwater330, I don't think Lewis is kicking Dave, I think the team took a "damage control" decision to make Dave look like the bad guy (although Lewis is just as guilty as Dave), they have to show that they are doing something... and they can't suspend their number one driver. Lewis is just singing along, playing the team game, there might be some serious consequences down the line because of this. Lewis can't take too much of the blame now, they have decided to let Dave take the fall to try and get the attention off Lewis (also don't think it's going to work) but yes, it's more complicated than kicking Dave when he is down...
Michelle, why now ?? we never see editorials from you, why now ?? it's nice to kick people when they are down is it not.
Hell no, so Trulli is suspected of doing something wrong, McLaren goes into the hearing and doesn't ask the Stewarts if they have done their jobs properly by listening to the radio comms. Next thing we know Lewis is missing 6 points. There are no words to describe this mess
I think that "Please can we just have some racing" option in todays vote sais it all. Why don't the Stewarts tell us exactly what's going on. hell it makes me sick, to love a sport so much, but to have it messed about like this.
yes amadan, that's the point, to have an advantage.
Oooo, I'm not a Button fanboy, but him in the rain in that car... can anyone say "lapping the field"
"...but then again he had to as there was a corner coming" - hell AD, well done. I nearly fell off the chair.
hell Bernard, please pick a number and leave F1 alone.
well thank everything that is holy, now all they have to do is delay it permanently
go Schumi
agalavis, please think about what you are saying, yes we will have one hell of a fight come race day. but say one driver wins that fight the first 9 times, then what ??? what about the rest of the season. this will not work, end of story. at some point, especially this year with the rule changes, one team will likely dominate the first half of the season and leave us with nothing for the rest of the season.
sagistic, what makes you think the teams are close together ? we've had massive rule changes. the cars will be anything but close together, the only way you get the cars close together is by rule stability.
Yes, if Kimi wins the first 9 and then buggers off home for a holiday. now that's racing... oooo can't wait
worst idea in history, there is nothing else to say
what do you have for advanced transport robson ?
yes, i was afraid of that :(
ooooo, i'm worried
fortunately you don't get points for popularity...
What does launching today mean, does it mean they race this season ? I think not, but it would be nice to know.
Juan-Pablo we miss you, just not in a McLaren or bumping into a McLaren...don't know if that's possible
ooo, KERS is gonna cost someone
Oh, I hope they do that, and I hope she's good too
"Meanwhile 22 seasons would have seen the title either won or lost before it actually was." - and that's why it's the worst idea in history.
it's not a question of being worried. rules are rules ?? why do they bother building a car within the rules if the rules didn't mean anything.
amoore, we'll see you sing a different tune once the red lights leads the number 3 car straight into a toyota side pod.
didn't think about it that way. but you're actually spot on FH. good article.
8 engines per season, so if you use each engine for 3 races that's 24 races... where is the penalty for everyone as we don't have 24 races. Bannor am I missing something.
haha... The Ginger Arse Flayer, go Andrew. But yes, very nice article.
Job well done Ron
I'm pretty sure it's a biased opionion, but this car isn't half as ugly as the toyota/ferrari
aaaahhhh robson, tsk tsk, you need to stop blaming this website for a bias toward the Brittish then, seeing as Lewis is swiss.
bright side anyone ? at least the spy saga won't happen again because your data = my data
if the car following has a speed advantage, why would Lewis, Kimi, Fernando etc... ever bother with qualifying ???
bugger off Max, the only thing in your letter that makes sense is not having marbles from tires.
I think Andrew means current drivers, DC is no longer with us, and we are speaking of the coming season.
maybe i don't fully understand the system, but is there a check to see if there is a car appoaching ? because without that it's unsafe even if the rest is perfect.
YAY, can't wait for the next screwup
Yes Mika, and before podium finishes had no appeal, that's why the Minardis never bothered ????
hell Felipe, what are you thinking ????
come on guys, don't be so hard on Robson. He's got at least 10 years of F1 watching Hamilton hell ahead of him.
i don't see a fan of the red cars here ?? where did they all go ?
i can't believe i'm saying this... but Mr Di Montezemelo is right in everything he said in this article. and on the US GP, next year is the 100th anniversary of the first motorsport event at the indianapolis motor speedway... and Bernie said we'll have no F1 race there next year. step down old man, step down.
daaaamn, seems it helps to read before you comment. it seems only red bull racing had a twin keel suspension in 07. sorry robbo, am i glad now i called him a human being...
robson, i'm not trying to sound like an expert (coz i'm not) but ferrari switched to a twin keel front suspension and shortened their wheelbase between 2007 and 2008. so in essence (those are beeeg changes) the ferrari in 2008 is more like the McLaren than the other way around. I know two parameters don't make a car, but just to prove a point... stop blowing that horn you ignorant human being (last two words took a while to type)
it's not as bad as we imagine, i hate it too. but it will be ok.
yes this is a serious situation, honda is a beeeeg company. if they can't afford it...it seems Mosley does have a point, who saw that coming.
I supported the idea when i first heard it, must have had a late night or something... Yes it's the worst idea since Abe Lincoln wanted to go take in a show.
oh and spikeymikey... there is a gap the size of the Lords grace between being "asked" and being threatened. so please pack this one up, you can't make it look OK
Lewis fan here, damn if only i had been preparing for this moment in stead of wasting my days....but yes it is a wonderful time for all of us.
shallow jingoism... woohoo, I've finally attained it !! the elders will be so proud
brucetravis, what does BBC stand for ? they have zero responsibilty to anyone but the UK, they are a public service funded by the brittish goverment (I'm not brittish by the way). There is nothing stopping your local broadcaster from providing their own audio feed (the video and audio feeds are already seperated) if they feel the same way you do...
i think it's good news, wonder if he will be in the same role as with itv. hope so
changed me mind, duckbreath has the winner... listen to the man make it 12,8,6,5,4,3,2,1 end of story
fair enough, seems like a nice idea
F1_FREAK_666, as you might think... there is a difference between knowing about driving fast and being able to do it. I'm sure James has a solid grasp of what it means to be quick around a track
being the weakest world champion, as you so elegantly put it beniah, only means that he had some competition and it wasn't a cake walk McLaren 1,2 from race 1.
yes Lewis, push for 8, then these guys can shut the hell up
'cmon Robson, let's feel the love.
robson, me boy ??? in a year in which we have radical rule changes i would not be making any claims as to who WILL DEFINITELY WIN the wdc next year. hell some people...
hell i'd be arrogant too
dunno if that would solve the problems, but at least it's a step in the right direction.
your fans can't take it either lewis :)
hell i hope so Lewis
hell, what's next ? don't really know what to say in the face of such hatred.
ya ya, massa is greatest driva, all your trophies are belong to us.... if you are going to be telling F1 greats off, please do so in full sentences.
go DC
jip, Fernando is the man, Lewis needs a bit more experience to be on that level. But he will get there.
i don't have ITV, supersport in South Africa does it for me, but based on comments made on this site i'm sure blunders will be sorely missed :)
listen to the man (and he won his WDC with Ferrari), this is an honest unbaised opinion
I'm a huuuuuuge Lewis fan, not a Brit though, but i hear you on the brittish press making us feel sick everytime they utter the L word. i actually think Martin can be quite ok, it's James you have to worry about... at least for the 10 minutes after the race. i don't think the BBC will give him a chance
which team is it that wants team orders to be legal again... please boys, let it go.
jip, between Felipe and Lewis they tried their very best not to win the title, if Robert had a slightly better car he would have won it by simply not doing anthing silly.
jip, the commercial rights earn a lot more than the teams spend. they do need to reduce costs, but Bernies greed is not helping matters.
elcrowley, me boy, i'm sure McLaren would not have minded if Heiki was in front of Lewis. he would have just let him past in the last 10 laps, just like kimi and felipe. first place in the constructors champs is quite a few bucks to chuck away, i'm sure McLaren wouldn't do that. please use your head before sharing your inside knowledge on what happens in the paddock.
let's hope it stays this way

@carbineAU, "a Nice comment" you say, I almost fell off my chair laughing at that gem from parisdakar. well done boy
