Lewis is just singing along, playing the team game, there might be some serious consequences down the line because of this. Lewis can't take too much of the blame now, they have decided to let Dave take the fall to try and get the attention off Lewis (also don't think it's going to work) but yes, it's more complicated than kicking Dave when he is down...

agalavis, please think about what you are saying, yes we will have one hell of a fight come race day. but say one driver wins that fight the first 9 times, then what ??? what about the rest of the season. this will not work, end of story. at some point, especially this year with the rule changes, one team will likely dominate the first half of the season and leave us with nothing for the rest of the season.
