I don't think McLaren had ever run on near empty fuel tank during practice sessions, they won't ever try to fool themselves by showing a 'fake' P1 performace just to impress anybody! But I do know the ones who often times do are Renault and Red Bull!

hamilton is not 1.6 secs faster then kovoleinen. and in f1 a car doesnt race for 16th position one weekend and then for 1st position the next race, so expect hamilton to drop down the order severely tomorrow.

The only first place Mclaren will have all season.

Hammilton only did 23 laps, the fewest of all the drivers except for Fisichella who did only 3 laps! We'll see tomorrow who's running on fumes.

Yeah great! But Rosber is a King of the practice, and everybody knows how he end in race.

'IF' that is genuine pace from Ham and not an empty tank glory run, then it's impressive. My gut feeling is he was running on fumes.

Showboating for the home Mercedes crowd perhaps? I hope not - would love to see Lewis back up the field. Always good to see a Brit at the top :-) (awaiting the Aussie and American responses) Will also help Button out.

Great to see Lewis up the top where he belongs. Im sure he was very light but it still looks to be a big improvement. More up dates for Hungary as well so fingers crossed. This is great news for Button as if the Mclaren have made a genuine step up in speed then Lewis may well help Button win his 1st title.

was hamilton 1st because all the other teams were trying different set-ups or does he have a real chance to win this weekend?
