Kamui Kobayashi has invited a group of children from one of the disaster-affected regions of Japan to the Suzuka race.
Kobayashi was greatly affected by the disaster that hit his home country back in March as the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster that hit Japan wrecked havoc.
However, the Sauber driver is doing his part to add a little joy to the lives of some of those affected by the disaster.
Kobayashi has invited a group of children, members of the MJC Ensemble, a girls' choir group, and their parents to be his guests at the Japanese GP.
"I hope the children from Minami-Soma have an enjoyable weekend. I will make sure they are well looked after in terms of their travel, accommodation etc." he said.
"I will be proud of them and their heartbreaking singing, telling the world how deeply grateful and robust Japan is."
For the race weekend in Suzuka the two Sauber C30s will again be carrying the same message they did at the season's opener in Melbourne, "may our prayers reach the people in Japan."
