Ricciardo wants second season

Daniel Ricciardo believes Toro Rosso will retain him for next year's Championship unless something goes "very badly" in the next few races.

Ricciardo, backed by Red Bull, joined Toro Rosso at the start of this season after finding his feet in Formula One with HRT the previous season.

However, 2012 has been by no means a success for the Australian or his team.

Ricciardo has just two points from 11 grand prix starts while his team-mate Jean-Eric Vergne has netted four as Toro Rosso have struggled to stay in touch with F1's midfield battle.

But despite the disappointments, Ricciardo believes he's still be with the team next season.

"I'd say I'll stay unless the next few races go very badly," he told motor-total.com

"The qualifying has been okay for me, the races were up and down but if I can knock out a few races and remain strong in qualifying I honestly think I've done everything I can do.

"It would be good to get a season year because there is still a lot to learn."
