Brawn: Trust Hamilton

Ross Brawn has called on Lewis Hamilton's fans to trust that the Brit has made the right decision swapping McLaren for Mercedes.

With confirmation finally coming on Friday that Hamilton is off to Mercedes next season there have been some questions about whether the 27-year-old has made the right decision.

While McLaren have won eight Constructors' and 12 Drivers' Championships, Mercedes, who returned to F1 as a works team in 2010, have won just one grand prix.

Brawn, though, says fans should trust that Hamilton knows what he is doing.

"I think they need to understand the reasons for Lewis' choice," the Mercedes team boss told The F1 Show.

"Lewis is a very bright, intelligent person and I think he has made this choice based on the evidence of what we are doing here. So I think support his choice.

"We will have our ups and downs over the next few months and years, but we are determined to succeed and I think we now have all the ingredients we need to succeed."
