Alex Lynn has earned a dream move to Red Bull's Junior Team and will compete in the 2014 GP3 Series with Carlin.
The 20-year-old finished third in this year's FIA Formula 3 European Championship on the back of three victories and 14 podiums ,while he also won the prestigious Macau GP in November.
"I am extremely proud to be joining the Red Bull Junior Team and to be also joining Carlin for the GP3 Series, it's a big opportunity that I'm ready to make the most of," the Briton said.
"I have spent years going wheel to wheel with the Red Bull Carlin cars, so now it will be cool to be racing one myself."
Lynn will follow in the footsteps of Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo, Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniil Kvyat, who were all members of Red Bull's junior driver programme and also drove for Carlin.
Team Principal Trevor Carlin welcomed the addition of the youngster, and feels he is capable of challenging for the title right from the word go.
"We have come close to working with Alex before and we have always admired the way he handles himself both on and off the track," he said.
"We are very proud that the Red Bull Junior Team have entrusted us with Alex's first season in the programme and we are already laying preparations for a very strong push for the season ahead.
"Alex is a very quick driver with exactly the right attitude to be a challenger for the GP3 title from the very start."
