Mercedes have confirmed that Red Bull duo Mark Ellis and Giles Wood will join the squad next season.
Germany's Bild broke the story on Wednesday, revealing that Ellis, the chief engineer of vehicle dynamics, and chief engineer simulation/analysis Wood will join the Brackley-based squad in June next year.
Mercedes made the appointments official on Thursday morning with Ellis taking over as performance director and Wood appointed chief engineer, simulation and development.
It is another setback for the four-time World Champions as they will also lose leading aerodynamicist Peter Prodromou, who was the right-hand man of design guru Adrian Newey, to McLaren.
However, the Milton Keynes team have vowed not to release him from his contract early with his deal expiring at the end of the 2014 season and they have adopted the same policy for Ellis and Wood.
