Hakkinen backs Kimi to succeed

Two-time Drivers' Championship winner Mika Hakkinen believes his Finnish compatriot Kimi Raikkonen will upset Fernando Alonso at Ferrari this year.

Most pundits and former drivers have hinted that Alonso might be too quick for Raikkonen, with departed Ferrari driver Felipe Massa - who the Finn is replacing - suggesting that the Spaniard is the better driver because he "combines talent with brains".

Hakkinen, however, believes that his countryman - who was Ferrari's last Drivers' Champion in 2007 - is the perfect man to bring success back to the Maranello outfit.

"I think Kimi's driving style is really perfect for these turbo cars," Hakkinen told Spanish daily Marca.

"Alonso pushes too hard, so I think Kimi will beat him."
