Red Bull 'more or less there'

Despite still having a "lot of problems" that need solving, Sebastian Vettel was encouraged by Red Bull's improved pace in Malaysia.

Red Bull's campaign did not get off to a good start as the team left Australia without a single World Championship point.

While Vettel's race was undone by an engine problem, Daniel Ricciardo was disqualified when his RB10 was found to have exceeded the fuel flow limit.

The team, though, did at least show some pace and arrived in Malaysia determined to build on that.

Vettel did just that, finishing Friday's running at the Sepang circuit with the third fastest time.

Putting in the laps on a hot humid day, he clocked a 1:39.970 on the medium Pirellis to finish 0.061s off the pace.

"We are more or less there in terms of pace, which is very good news," said Vettel.

"For everything else we have to be patient. It is still early days, we still have a lot of problems we need to solve.

"But when we get the package together we seem to be on the right page, so I'm looking forward to tomorrow and Sunday."
