A tribute from Stepney's daughter

A tribute from Stepney's daughter

Nigel Stepney's daughter, Laura, has paid tribute to her late father following his death in an accident last week.

The former Ferrari mechanic was pronounced dead on the scene after he was hit by an articulated goods vehicle in Essex on Friday.

PlanetF1 and several other media outlets erroneously reported that he left behind his current partner and daughter, Ash and Sabine Stepney, but he also had three children from a previous marriage, Laura, Cassie and Joshua Stepney.

Laura took time out to email PF1 and point out the mistake and also paid tribute to her father.

"We are deeply saddened and it was rather a shock when we found out our father had been killed in such a tragic accident," she wrote. "He was a big part of our childhood and we have some very fond memories. I know he was an inspiration to many and always left a lasting impression. It is a great shame that we were not able to get to know our father better before he sadly passed away."

We at PF1 would like to apologise for the error and send our condolences to the family and friends of Nigel Stepney.

We also would once again like to urge those who comment below to show some respect.
