Ferrari play down Brawn's return

Ross Brawn may have visited Ferrari's Maranello HQ earlier this week but the team insists it was just a friendly stop.

Brawn had a long and successful history with Ferrari that included five Drivers' Championship titles with Michael Schumacher.

Walking away from F1 and his post at Mercedes at the end of 2013, many tifosi expressed a desire to see Brawn return to Ferrari - and that's exactly what he did earlier this week.

Brawn's return, though, was only a brief one as he stopped off to say hi and put in a few laps at the Fiorano test track.

"He was on holiday and he still has a house nearby," a Ferrari spokesman told Sky Sports Online.

"He was with some friends and he dropped by. It's nothing more than that."
