Red Bull: Not ideal but still decent

Despite missing track time on both days of testing, Red Bull's Andy Damerum says they still obtained "good data".

Sebastien Buemi was in action on the opening day at the Barcelona circuit before handing the RB10 over to Sebastian Vettel for Day Two.

The German's running, though, got off to a delayed start due to overnight work solving the gearbox issues that halted Buemi's test the previous day.

Vettel, who also broke down in the pit lane, still managed 72 laps, finishing down in seventh place, 3.102s behind pace-setter Pastor Maldonado.

"It's obviously not ideal to have a problem that costs you time on both days, but the problem we had was such that it needed a lot of time to fix overnight and getting the car ready delayed our start this morning," said race engineering co-ordinator Damerum.

"We managed to get a couple of runs in before lunch, just to get Sebastian comfortable in the car, but it wasn't giving him what he wanted so we tweaked a few things over the lunch break. Then in the afternoon we had a pretty productive run.

"It sounds like a mantra for me now, but every lap you run yields good information and even though we didn't have a perfect outing, we've got good data. I spoke to the guys at the factory this morning and they're already pleased with the information we got.

"In the limited time we had I have to say that, from a race engineer's perspective, there was a lot to take away from the work we did. So, all told - a fairly decent couple of days."
