Glock hits out at pay driver culture

Timo Glock says he would not even entertain the idea of returning to Formula 1 in light of the current pay driver culture.

After a promising start to his F1 career, which included three podium results in his first two seasons, the German's career ended after 2012 when he failed to secure a seat on the 2013 grid.

With Formula 1 teams selling seats to drivers with sponsorship, Glock moved to the German DTM series, securing a race win in his first season.

And although two years have gone by, his frustration with Formula 1 is still evident.

"It is pretty clear that in the current situation there are just three or four teams who can choose and pay for their drivers," he told HITC.

"The rest look for how much money the driver can bring. In my eyes, that's not the purpose of the sport.

"That's why at the moment I don't see a future and don't waste thoughts thinking about it."

The 32-year-old, who races for BMW Team MTEK, added that he is happy in DTM.

"At the moment I'm having a lot of fun so I would be happy if I could continue for a few more years," he said.
