He may not fulfil his dream of racing for one of the top teams next year, but Paul di Resta is nevertheless delighted to have been linked with them.

Having impressed during his first two seasons in Formula One, the Force India driver was touted as a contender for a race seat at Mercedes, McLaren and Ferrari.

However, Di Resta is likely to stick with the Silverstone squad in 2013 as Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes and Red Bull's line-ups have already been confirmed.

The 26-year-old Scot, though, admits it is nice to be mentioned in the same breath as some the sport's elite teams.

"You always want to be linked with these seats and thankfully I was," Di Resta told Sky Sports News.

"The best thing to hope for is that I'll get a seat one day. I've always said I want to be winning races and Championships, but whoever I'll drive for I'll be 100 per cent committed, driving the car as fast as I can and taking it to new levels."
