Christian Horner has been quick to defend Red Bull's call for Mark Webber to hold station in the British GP, saying the team could not "afford" an accident.
Two laps from the end of the grand prix, Webber had chased down Vettel for second place and was right on his team-mate's rear wing.
The Aussie had the use of his DRS and could have, as others had done earlier in the grand prix, fight Vettel for the position.
However, that's when the team order came down.
Red Bull team radio: "Mark, maintain the gap."
Vettel went on to finish second, adding a further 18 points to his already massive lead in the standings, Webber scored just 15 and now trails his team-mate by 80 points.
Immediately after the race, the BBC pit-lane reporter Ted Kravitz spoke with Horner and was told: "Obviously Mark disagreed with that."
However, it seems Horner isn't at all fazed about upsetting the Aussie as he added that "it is a team result.
"I can understand Mark's frustrations but we cannot give away a load of points.
"We did not want to see our drivers in the fence at some time in the last two laps, which is how it would have ended up.
"Mark is not out of the Championship race but we could not afford to risk losing points. Mark should be fine with that, he is a team player.
"Second and third is a very strong result."
