Senna: I was pushing too hard

Bruno Senna admits his heavy accident in final practice was entirely his fault as he put a wheel too far off the track.

The Renault driver brought out the red flags in Practice Three when he spun exiting Spoon and hit the barriers nose first.

The impact caused his left front wheel to come loose and, with his car spinning around on impact, the tethered got caught under it before coming to rest on the nose.

Senna was unhurt in the shunt, although his car suffered significant damage.

"Unfortunately I was pushing too hard. I put my wheel on the exit of the kerb; the car bottomed out and spun me into the wall," the Brazilian told the BBC.

"It's not ideal, especially before qualifying, but the first lap was a good indicator that we've made good progress on car."

Senna was quickly over to his Lotus Renault garage to apologise to his team, who he said were "very supportive" and "sometimes I make mistakes and they understand it."
