Sebastian Vettel may have won the Monaco GP on a one-stop strategy, however, that wasn't the plan at the start of the race.
Vettel came in for his first - and only - stop on lap 16, which saw the reigning World Champ swap from the super soft to the soft tyres.
However, it was apparent to everyone watching that Red Bull were not ready for Vettel as they didn't even have the tyre warmers off.
The tyres, though, went on and Vettel resumed running, but slipped behind Jenson Button after his slow stop.
The change in compound, though, meant that as long as Vettel looked after his tyres he wouldn't have to stop again and the German put that to good use, taking the lead.
He was, however, under threat in the latter stages as both Fernando Alonso and Button were on fresher rubbing and right on his rear wing.
But with the race red flagged after Vitaly Petrov's accident, Red Bull were able to put Vettel on new tyres and he sprinted to his first-ever Monaco GP victory.
"This was a really special race," Horner said.
"We had problems at Sebastian's first stop, we had radio issues, and didn't get the tyres on that we wanted. So we had to change our strategy.
"The main thing was that we didn't panic. We tried something a bit different, which was very aggressive.
"But Seb was making it work. That was what won him the race today.
"He was pretty confident, kept talking to his engineers, focusing on areas he could be quick."
