Sebastian Vettel continued his Chinese domination as the German made it three from three in the practice sessions.
Vettel posted a 1:34.968 on Saturday morning to take the P1 slot ahead of McLaren's Jenson Button.
The good news for McLaren, though, is that the gap between the 2009 Champ and the current title holder was just 0.208s.
Lewis Hamilton was third quickest, finishing ahead of Nico Rosberg, Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, Vitaly Petrov and Adrian Sutil.
Meanwhile, Mark Webber was P15 after the Aussie yet again suffered with KERS related issues.
Report: Conditions were cooler at the start of the final practice with the track temperature sitting at just 20'C. That, combined with the wind picking up, meant the smog had cleared over the circuit.
Lewis Hamilton hit the track in his revised McLaren, which today features only parts of the new floor that he tested yesterday. Hamilton was not happy with the updates after Friday's running, saying he was uncomfortable in the car. Rubens Barrichello was another running updates, using Williams' new exhaust and floor.
Birthday boy Paul di Resta led the early charge before he was dropped by Michael Schumacher, who crossed the line with a 1:38.516. The German soon lost out to Sergio Perez, Nico Rosberg and Jenson Button - the latter posting a 1:37.367. Sebastian Vettel was the next to lead the way, taking over a full second off Button's time.
Halfway through the session it was Vettel leading, followed by Button, Rosberg, Hamilton, Vitaly Petrov, Fernando Alonso, Jaime Alguersuari and Schumacher.
Mark Webber, the only driver yet to set a time, appeared to be having a few problems as he slowly toured around the track while his mechanics are all donned their rubber gloves, hinting at a KERS problem. Webber pitted as his team-mate Vettel returned to the action.
Button closed the gap to Vettel to 0.865s with Alonso climbing to fourth place and Felipe Massa taking sixth. Rosberg overhauled Vettel with a 1:35.677 while his Mercedes GP team-mate improved to third place - both drivers were on the soft prime tyres.
Webber finally posted a time, taking sixth place, 1.219s off the pace. However, after three short laps he was back in the pits and again it looked to be KERS related. Button was the next to lead the way before fastest times in sector one and two boosted Vettel back up to the front. A 1:34.968 for the reigning World Champ.
The final practice ended with Jerome D'Ambrosio dropping parts of his front wing on the track and, once again, Vettel the quickest driver around the Shanghai circuit.
