Rosberg unfazed by driving debate

Nico Rosberg is adamant he did nothing wrong in Bahrain and has welcomed reports that his driving will be the topic of discussion in Spain.

In the immediate aftermath of the Bahrain GP, Rosberg was called before the stewards in relation to two incidents, one involving Lewis Hamilton and the other Fernando Alonso.

In both incidents Rosberg put up a robust defence, which prompted Alonso to state that had there been a wall he would not be around to tell his side of the story.

The stewards, though, felt Rosberg's action were within the rules and the Mercedes driver escaped without penalty.

However, his driving is set to be one of the main topics when the drivers meets the officials in Spain this weekend.

"Two of the drivers raised their concerns about it so we need to discuss it," Rosberg told Autosport.

"If there was a danger which I didn't cause on purpose then we need to implement rules so that it doesn't arise again.

"It is driver safety and we need to do the best we can so that we can move forward. We could look at implementing more rules in that situation because it is not very clear, but it can be looked at.

"Rules such as a car width is very good because we need that clear situation to penalise drivers when there is a need to."

As for Alonso's comments about the wall, Rosberg concedes that had there been one, such as in Monaco, he would have toned it down.

"Of course if there had been the barriers at Monaco it would have been a different story, yes. Then again the guys behind would have backed off a lot earlier.

"In that situation I judged it to be harsh but fair so it was harsh but within the rules. And I didn't judge that I was putting my competitors in danger."
