HRT owner: We'll be on the grid

Hispania Racing insist their car will be on the grid next year and also revealed they won't make an announcement on their driver line-up for 2011 before the new year.

The Spanish-based team had a difficult start to their Formula One campaign and speculation that they won't make it to Bahrain next year is rife after their technical partnership with Toyota broke down in recent months.

However, team owner Jose Ramon Carabante says this is a long-term project for everyone involved.

"The car will be on the grid for sure," he told Spain's Marca newspaper.

"We want to keep improving. We want to consolidate the team step-by-step over the next few years and to be one step ahead of what we have achieved.

"It's a long-term project and we want to keep on learning and see if in two or three years we can consolidate the project, which was the initial idea."

Hispania had a revolving door for drivers during their debut season with Bruno Senna, Karun Chandhok, Sakon Yamamoto and Christian Klien all taking turns to drive.

Team boss Colin Kolles attributed their struggles to their inexperienced line-up and they have in recent months been linked with veteran Spaniard Pedro de la Rosa.

Carabante says they have been talking to "various drivers".

"There will be changes," he said. "We are talking to various drivers. There are five or six drivers we are talking to and we are in no hurry.

"Until January we won't announce anything as we are looking to see what the best option is. There are many possibilities and we want to have the most reliable drivers, just like the car."

After propping up the table in 2010, Carabante hopes the team will be mid-table next year.

"We have to be realistic," he said. "We want to be a step ahead of where we were during this year and that's that. To be high up is a dream, a utopia. Scoring is also very hard, but we want to be [just] behind Toro Rosso, Force India and teams like that."
