Bernie Ecclestone is reportedly considering a bid from Mallorca to take the European Grand Prix away from Valencia.
According to reports, representatives from Mallorca met with the F1 supremo at last month's European GP to discuss the possibility of hosting the grand prix from 2013 onwards.
During the meeting Ecclestone was shown the plans for the new 5.7km race circuit in Llucmajor.
Llucmajor's Mayor Joan Jaume Mulet is supporting the bid while Spanish architects Mateo Palmer and Biel Arbona have already been commissioned to work on the track.
Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands which also includes Ibiza, Formentera and Minorca.
