BMW have scrapped their idea of running a Friday test driver at grand prix weekends "until further notice."
BMW was one of only two teams to run at Friday tester in the opening two races of the season, forcing either Nick Heidfeld or Robert Kubica to sit out one of the day's practice sessions.
However, for race three, the Bahrain GP, the team used both race drivers on the Friday as test driver Sebastien Vettel had other commitments.
And even though BMW are in the position to use the German at next weekend's Spanish GP, team boss Mario Theissen has announced that BMW will instead run Heidfeld and Kubica.
"Following the overseas races we have been looking closely at the driver line-up for the Friday of the GP weekends," said Theissen.
"Until further notice, the two race drivers will be on track for the whole of Friday."
Williams is the only other team to have run a Friday test driver, using Kazuki Nakajima in the opening three races of the season.
