Robert Kubica is in a stable condition after his horrific accident in Sunday's Canadian GP.
26 laps into the race, the BMW driver clipped the back of a Toyota while traveling at 170mph, which sent him hurtling headfirst into the inside wall ahead of the hairpin.
The impact then forced Kubica's car back onto the track, where it rolled several times before coming to a step on its side against the wall at the hairpin run off.
The accident brought out the Safety Car while the medics helped Kubica, taking him first to the track's medical centre and then on to hospital.
"I talked to him and my impression is that he's fine," his manager, Daniele Morelli, assured ITV. "I saw him well. He talked to me almost normally, so that's a good sign."
BMW team boss Mario Theissen later denied reports that Kubica had broken his leg in the accident.
"We have just go the information from the hospital that he is unhurt," he told Autosport.
"He will stay in hospital overnight, but he will be released tomorrow morning."
