Toro Rosso team boss Franz Tost has denied reports that he 'assaulted' Scott Speed after Sunday's European GP.
According to reports that emerged after the Nurburgring race, Speed and Tost were involved in a verbal spat following the America's retirement from the grand prix.
And it ended when Tost grabbed Speed in an apparent "assault", a witness told SpeedTV.
The Toro Rosso team boss, though, denies that there was anything other than a conversation between himself and his driver.
"I asked Speed why he retired. He just smiled back and asked why his pit stop took so long," Tost told the Blick newspaper.
"He then turned away, which was when I put my hand on his shoulder and said 'this is not something to discuss here.'
"It was not a pit-war."
