Raikkonen put off by 'unpleasant things' in F1

Kimi Raikkonen admits he's relieved that he no longer has to worry about all the "unpleasant things" in Formula One.

The Finn has swapped his F1 cockpit for a rallying seat and will drive for the Citroën Junior Team in the 2010 World Championship.

The former Ferrari driver believes the vibe in rallying is much better than in Formula One.

"There's too much politics in Formula One," he told Red Bulletin's German site. "No one is wiling to say what they think in public because they are afraid it will be taken out of context.

"The atmosphere in rallying is a lot better. It's more about the drivers' performance."

Raikkonen, who won the 2007 World Championship with Ferrari, says he can still return to F1, but he's not very keen at the moment.

"Maybe I'm going to the Monaco Grand Prix for fun," he said. "As things stand now, I could back in an F1 cockpit at any time. But do I want it?

"A lot of unpleasant things are happening in Formula One with one manufacturer leaving after the other or selling their teams. I'm glad I don't have to worry about it at the moment. In a year, we'll talk again."

The 30-year-old says F1 has "become a routine" in recent years.

"In F1, every lap is more or less the same," he added. "It's more difficult if it rains, but otherwise it soon becomes a routine. In rallying, every corner or hill might be different from what you expected.
