Kolles: Yamamoto will retain his seat

Hispania team boss Colin Kolles has confirmed Sakon Yamamoto will continue to drive for the Spanish marque.

Yamamoto initially replaced Bruno Senna for the British Grand Prix, but for the last three races in Germany, Hungary and Belgium, Karun Chandhok has been forced to give way to the Japanese driver.

Kolles' decision comes despite the fact that in three of his four races in which he has managed to take the chequered flag, Yamamoto has been last of those who have finished.

In Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix, the 28-year-old was a lap down on the driver immediately ahead of him, Lotus Racing's Jarno Trulli.

"I think both drivers (Senna and Yamamoto) are doing a good job," said Kolles.

"We had the best qualifying result in Spa so far, and Sakon's lap times were at the same level as (Lotus driver Heikki) Kovalainen's and (Virgin Racing driver Timo) Glock's in the race.

"I think there is no reason to make any changes so far."

The team is much improved from that which just made it onto the grid for the season-opening race in Bahrain in March, and Kolles is satisfied with progress on and off track.

"I am very proud (of the team) because we cannot say we had an optimal pre-season preparation. I think they are doing a fantastic job," added Kolles.

"The team is becoming more and more one unit, and we are making progress.

"With more sponsors on board that situation is also improving. As I mentioned before, in F1 you need a lot of support and this is what we are trying to achieve.

"But we have to work hard to get as much sponsorship as possible for 2011."
