Sebastian Vettel is predicting a closely fought battle in qualifying at Monza with Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren all with a chance of securing pole.
Friday's practice sessions for the Italian GP saw McLaren lead the way in the opening session before Vettel and Red Bull came to the fore in the afternoon.
The German, though, was unable to pull away from his rivals, beating Ferrari's Fernando Alonso by just 0.076s.
Added to that, the top five, which included both Ferrari drivers and the McLaren pairing, were separated by a mere 0.371s.
"It will be tight. The gap between cars will be very small," Vettel told the BBC.
"We looked quite good today. Ferrari were very quick this afternoon and McLaren were up there all day long, dictating the pace.
"It's looking quite good, so I'm quite happy."
His team-mate Mark Webber also featured in the top six, 0.576s behind Vettel.
However, his day wasn't without problems as he came to a halt out on track in Practice Two.
Webber, though, is confident he can find the pace needed to challenge those ahead of him.
"I've got to find a little bit of pace myself, but at the moment it looks good for us," said the Aussie.
