Kimi Raikkonen is officially back in Formula One, having put in his first laps since 2009 at the Valencia circuit.

The 2007 World Champion, who is making a comeback this season with Lotus F1 Racing, hit the Spanish track early on Monday morning.

Behind the wheel of a two-year-old Renault R30, Raikkonen is getting the opportunity to re-familiarise himself with an F1 car after two full years out of the sport.

Under F1 regulations, teams can put their drivers through their paces in any car that is two years old or older and must use Pirelli demonstration tyres for the run.

Head this way for the pictures of Kimi's return...
