Schumacher investigation closed

The investigation into Michael Schumacher's skiing accident has been closed with the prosecutor revealing "no person has been found guilty of any violation".

Schumacher sustained severe brain trauma when he fell while skiing off-piste at the Meribel resort in December.

Placed in a medically induced coma after undergoing two operations to relieve pressure and remove blood clots, doctors began the waking up process a month later.

Schumacher, though, has yet to wake up with his manager Sabine Kehm confirming that it "can take a long time."

In the meantime the investigation continued, examining the area, his equipment, including a helmet camera, and talking to witnesses.

The case was finally concluded last week with the local prosecutor revealing that there was no third party involvement.

"The investigation into the causes and consequences of the December 29 skiing accident of Michael Schumacher... has been closed on February 12," Albertville prosecutor Patrick Quincy said in a statement.

"No person has been found guilty of any violation."

He added: "The accident took place in an off-piste area.

"The signage, marking, staking and information provided about the edges of this slope adhere to French norms in place."
