Kimi Raikkonen may only have signed a one-year deal with Citroen but his stint in the World Rally Championship may become an extended one.
Having been dropped by Ferrari and overlooked by McLaren, it was announced last week that the Finn had French outfit Citroen for the 2010 rallying season.
Citroen sport boss, Olivier Quesnel, confirmed that Raikkonen has signed with the Citroen junior team for one year but that if the partnership proved profitable for both parties then the Finn's stay could be extended with a possible promotion to Citroen's senior team.
"It is clear that if he progresses and shows the level, he could slide into the first team [in 2011]", Quesnel told Auto Hebdo
"We are not asking for the impossible in his first season but If it's hard, maybe he returns to F1," added Quesnel.
