Fastest laps: Heikki quicker than the FerrarisSunday 6th April 2008Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen dominated the Bahrain Grand Prix from start to finish, but surprisingly neither of them set the fastest lap at the Sakhir circuit.
The honours went to McLaren's Heikki Kovalainen, who set a fastest lap of 1:33.193. BMW's Nick Heidfeid finished second with 1:33.565.
Heidfeld was followed by the Ferrari duo with Massa finishing ahead of Raikkonen, who for most part of the race looked like he would comfortable set the fastest lap of the day.
Lewis Hamilton, who was leading the Championship coming into the race, only managed a 1:35.520 as his fastest time, which can probably be blamed on his crash with Fernando Alonso.
Alonso also didn't have the best of days where lap times are concerned. The Spaniard was slower than his team-mate Nelsinho Piquet, albeit by only 0.65 seconds.
The man with the slowest lap time of the day was Jenson Button, whose best time was more than three seconds slower than Kovalainen's fastest lap.
