Rain forecast for the British GP

Thursday 3rd July 2008

If you are one of the 240,000 spectators heading to Silverstone this weekend you'd best pack an umbrella and some warm clothing as rain is forecast throughout the three days.

According to meteorologists light rain is expected during Friday's practice sessions with the ambient temperature high dropping reaching a mild 21'C.

However, the temperature will drop on Saturday while the likelihood of rain increases. Heavy showers have been forecast for qualifying day with a high of just 18'C.

And Sunday's sell-out race-day won't be any better as showers are once again expected along with a high of 19'C.

What all this means is simple: pack an umbrella!
