Adrian Sutil was thankful to the police for foiling a recent attempt by a blackmailer to get money out of him.
Following the Spanish GP two weeks ago, Sutil was approached by a man asking for money in exchanging for an old computer hard drive of Sutil's that contained private information.
The police were called in and soon caught the blackmailer bringing to an end a trying time for the Force India driver.
"When I came back from Barcelona there was a guy who had the hard disk of my old computer because my father had thrown it away about two years ago," he told Reuters.
"Somebody took this hard disk out of the computer, recognised me and he wanted to have a little benefit out of it.
"He asked for some money. I was a little bit shocked at the beginning, it was a new situation but finally after four days they caught him and now we have to see what happens."
The 25-year-old, though, made it clear that there was nothing on the hard driver that could have embarrassed him. However, it did continue all "my personal details, everything.
"All my contacts, my friends, my pictures. All my life was on there. You can imagine how bad it is. It doesn't matter what is on there but it's my personal things and that's it."
