Force India's access to factory blocked

Thursday 27th March 2008

The main entry road to Force India's Silverstone factory has been blocked off under the instruction of former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan.

The Irishman, the former owner of the Jordan team which now operates as Force India, kept ownership of some of the surrounding land that Force India operates on when he sold the team in 2006.

Concrete blocks were placed across the main access while Force India were in Sepang for the Malaysian Grand Prix and employees were forced to find an alternative entrance to their workplace.

Jordan told Reuters he is still waiting for factory owners to open talks about buying the rest of the land.

"I had to make a stand, they have to come and talk to me," he said.

"I paid for the road and put it on my land."

"I've got no problem with (Indian billionaire and Force India co-owner Vijay) Mallya," he added.

"It's the people who are managing the business who don't want to talk."
