Super Aguri have joined a long list of Formula One teams who have changed ownership or folded.
* Super Aguri - After participating in Formula One for two years and four months, the team announced on Tuesday that they are pulling out of the sport due to financial difficulties.
* Jordan - The Midland Group bailed out Jordan in 2005 and raced as MF1 Racing in 2006. The team changed hands again and were renamed Spyker F1 for the 2007 season before being sold to Force India at the end of the year.
* Minardi - Red Bull bought the struggling Minardi team in 2005 and renamed it Toro Rosso.
* Ford - They sold their Jaguar team to Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz in 2004 and compete as Red Bull Racing.
* Arrows - The team competed from 1997 to 2002, but went into liquidation in January 2003. They failed to win a single race in 25 years and 382 Formula One starts.
* Prost - Owned by four times World Champion Alain Prost, the team participated in five seasons from 1997 to 2001, but were declared bankrupt in January 2002.
* Tyrrell Racing - After three Drivers' Championship, the team were sold to British American Racing in 1998, who formed a partnership with Honda in 2005 and renamed the team Honda F1.
* Lotus - They won six Drivers' Championships and seven Constructors' Championships between 1958 and 1978, but were forced to bow out of F1 in January 1995.
* Simtek - Launched in 1993 and competed in the 1994 and 1995 seasons, but large debts and a lack of sponsorship money forced them to go into voluntary liquidation in June 1995.
* Andrea Moda - The Italian team, who used to operate as Coloni, were banned from the 1992 Championship for tarnishing the image of the sport after team boss Antonio Sassetti was arrested and charged with fraud.
* Brabham - Folded in 1992 after being sold to a Swiss financier who was subsequently jailed for fraud.
* Pacific - Pulled out of Formula One in 1995 after only two seasons in the sport.
* Other teams who have also competed in Formula One include: BRM, Cooper, Fittipaldi, Hesketh, Matra, Osella, Shadow, Vanwall, Wolf and Zakspeed.
