Nico Rosberg is eagerly anticipating next weekend's Monaco GP, a race that holds a special place in the Williams driver's heart.
As one of the F1 drivers who calls the Principality 'home', Rosberg has the opportunity to watch as work begins on the track roughly two months before the grand prix.
In not only heightens the anticipation but also leaves an air of wonder as the German contemplates the fact that the city is being transformed in order for him to race 19 other drivers around the narrow streets.
"Monaco is my home grand prix because it is where I grew up, where I have all my friends, family and everything so it is fun for me to race there - through my town, through my city and through all the streets I know so well," he told Setanta Sports News.
"The track starts to be built up about two months before the actual grand prix. You start seeing bits and pieces, the kerb arriving and the barrier and it always brings up memories and thoughts when you are driving through 'soon I will be here with my F1 car racing through the street.'
"It's such an amazing feeling drive through the tunnel in a racecar."
However, to date Rosberg hasn't any much success in the Monte Carlo street race, retiring in 2006 and taking 12th place last year. But that doesn't detract from the love the Williams driver has for his "challenging" home race.
"Monaco is a very, very special racetrack and it is probably the most challenging of the year because of the fact that it does not allow for any mistakes," he said.
