Formula One is back in action

Tuesday 8th July 2008

With nothing more than a day's break after the British GP, the F1 teams are back in action at Hockenheim today.

The three-day test will allow the teams to gain valuable data about the circuit having not raced there last season as the German GP was run at the Nurburgring instead.

Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen will have the chance to face-off to see just who is quickest in Germany as the duo are both testing on Tuesday and Wednesday. Heikki Kovalainen and Felipe Massa will step in to replace them for the third and final day.

Title contestant Robert Kubica will be in action on Day One before being replaced by Nick Heidfeld, while Mark Webber will also give way to his team-mate on Wednesday.

Nelson Piquet Jr, Seb Bourdais, Nico Rosberg and Adrian Sutil will also be putting in the mileage on Day One.

Meanwhile Honda and Toyota have both opted to give their drivers an extra day's break with Alex Wurz and Kamui Kobayashi testing on Tuesday. They will be replaced by Rubens Barrichello and Timo Glock for Day Two.

PF1 will bring you all the news, times and pictures from the three-day test.
