Fernando Alonso believes it's crucial for team-mate Nelson Piquet Jr to up his game if Renault are to achieve their goals this season.
Piquet Jr has scored just two points this season coming from his seventh placed finish at the French GP, which he achieved after overtaking Alonso out on track.
The Spaniard on the other hand has scored 13 points, which have helped Renault to seventh in the Championship. However, he concedes that in order to get Renault to fourth in the Championship he needs his team-mate's help.
"It's not frustrating. At the end of the day you do your own job," Alonso said in Hockenheim.
"But there is a clear target for the rest of the season: to finish fourth in the Constructors' Championship. So we need points from both drivers.
"I will do my best and Nelsinho will do his best, but today it will be difficult for him to score any points."
Alonso is starting Sunday's German GP from fifth on the grid on while Piquet Jr is down in 17th place.
