Timo Glock was unharmed despite hitting a concrete barrier at high speed during the German Grand Prix on Sunday.
The German was taken to hospital after he crashed through the hairpin at turn No 12 at Hockenheim.
His Toyota spun across the track and made contact with the barrier after his right rear suspension appeared to fail on the exit of the final corner.
Toyota confirmed that Glock didn't pick up any injuries during the crash and was taken to hospital for precautionary checks.
"Timo is fine and there are no physical signs of injury. He has been taken to a hospital for further precautionary checks. Further updates will be given as soon as they are available," the team statement said.
