Flavio Briatore was pelted with sand and water from angry locals when he landed a dingy on a crowded beach on the Sardinian coast.
Briatore, together with a party that included his new wife Elisabetta Gregoraci, was bombarded by jeers and whistles as well as sand and water when he stormed the beach in his dingy, having moored his yacht just off the coast.
According to La Stampa "terrorized children wailed between the waves" as the dingy interrupted their play while families tried to push the dingy back out to sea.
"How can they come so close to the shore in these boats, there are children here," shouted one woman according to the newspaper.
"These people think they rule the world," another person told the paper. "He's going to buy up the bar, then the beach, and what are we going to be left with?"
Briatore, though, wasn't too impressed with the greeting he got from the beach-goers.
"We are nice people and we get rewarded like this," he told the Corriere Della Sera newspaper. "I will close down everything. I pay taxes, this is my right."
