Sir Frank Williams has been awarded the Tom Wheatcroft trophy in recognition of his contribution to world motorsport.
The Williams team boss was presented with the trophy at a ceremony at his team's headquarters at Grove by the Wheatcroft family.
The trophy, which was set up by Kevin Wheatcroft in memory of his father Tom's involvement in motorsport, is awarded to those who have made significant contributions to the motorsport world and industry.
"When I heard that I was to receive the award, I was truly honoured. To join the list of formidable recipients of the Tom Wheatcroft trophy is a rare privilege," Sir Frank said.
"I've never forgotten the wet race at Donington in 1993, not so much for the thrashing that Ayrton (Senna) gave us, but for the fact that the race was privately funded by Tom, driven by his love and enthusiasm for the motor racing."
Kevin Wheatcroft added: "It is an honour to be giving the trophy to Frank today.
"All the recipients of the Tom Wheatcroft trophy have a long history in the sport and have made a considerable contribution to the industry.
"This trophy is our way of giving something back; it's a heartfelt thank you to the people that make the sport what it is."
Previous winners of the trophy include Former F1 commentator Murray Walker, Professor Sid Watkins, Bernie Ecclestone and Sir Stirling Moss.
