World Championship leader Lewis Hamilton topped the timesheets on the final day of testing at Monza on Friday.
The McLaren driver set a best time of one minute 22.967 seconds at the Italian circuit to edge Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen into second by four tenths of a second.
Veteran Italian Giancarlo Fisichella gave Force India a lift with an impressive third fastest time while Williams' Kazuki Nakajima was fourth ahead of David Coulthard, who racked up 120 laps for Red Bull Racing.
Fernando Alonso was sixth for Renault, while BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica was down in ninth ahead of Honda's Jenson Button, the last of the 10 runners.
Kubica's under-pressure team-mate Nick Heidfeld had the honour of claiming the overall fastest time of the three-day test courtesy of a 1:22.621 lap posted on Thursday.
Next stop is the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps on September 7 before the drivers return to Monza for the Italian Grand Prix one week later.
