Toyota team boss John Howett has warned that the car manufacturer could leave F1 if standard engines are introduced.
In a bid to cut the spirally cost of competing in Formula One, FIA President Max Mosley has proposed the introduction of a standard power unit.
However, many of the car manufacturers competing in F1, such as Honda, BMW, Renault and Mercedes are opposed to the idea, with Howett warning that it may result in Toyota quitting the sport.
"If the FIA will introduce a standard engine that will be plenty of reason for Toyota to exit Formula One," he reportedly told the German media.

"Why don't the FIA standardise everything in Ferrari's favour, not just the car and engine but, perhaps, the drivers as well? Imagine 20 Raikkonens for example. The press conferences would be a hoot! "Mnahh mnahh understeer problems mnahh""

" Fyi FTLane, Ferrari does not have manufacturing capacity to supply that many engines, the whole point of their participation in F1 is to sell their street cars, what will be the sense in helping to sell Toyota, BMW, Mercedes or Honda. F1 is supposed to show the best automotive technology, standardising will turn it into a bore"

"Guess what? The FIA like to see all cars with Ferrari engines!! So why u need BMW, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Mercedes en F1?? They all will use Ferrari engines.
Stop doing stupid things MAX. Why dont u stay at home all day long and let other more intellingent people do the things necesary to make the sport more equals for every team. I hate to see the FIA manipulating the rules to make favor after favor to Ferrari.
I wonder where were ferrari if the fia didnīt help them so much all this years. Remember in 2003, when the fia penalise Michelin for the tyres. What happen after that? Williams couldnīt fight for this years title cause the configuration if his car have changed cause of the reduction of the micheline tire.
Go Lewis and win this title, I am waiting for the moment to see the long faces at ferrari garage."
