Force India have downplayed Pedro de la Rosa's two-day test with the team, saying it in no way implies he'll be racing for them next season.
After testing with McLaren on Monday, de la Rosa got behind the wheel of Force India's F1 car for Tuesday and Wednesday's running at Barcelona.
This led to some speculation that the Spaniard could be heading to Force India next season as part of McLaren's technical support deal with the backmarker outfit.
However, a Force India spokesman has downplayed the rumours, saying de la Rosa was only called upon because he'd previously tested for the team under the Jordan banner.
"Pedro is an old friend of the team," he said. "It's an opportunity for a fresh face to put a new perspective on an old car."

"Official position makes sense, and I don't see how de la Rosa driving for Force India helps McLaren - surely they'd want to use Force-I to ease in a prospective McLaren driver, which de la Rosa is NOT. "
