Sebastien Buemi is hoping to learn ahead of the Jerez test in December whether or not he's landed a Toro Rosso race-seat for 2009.

The Swiss driver tested for the team at Barcelona this week, going up against Sebastien Bourdais and Takuma Sato, all of whom are vying for a Toro Rosso drive.

It was Sato, though, who proved to be the quicker of the trio on Tuesday, which was the only day when all three were in action.

The Japanese driver also finished ahead of Buemi on Monday, while on Wednesday Bourdais got the better of the GP2 driver.

But despite failing to beat either of his prospective team-mates, Buemi is still hopeful of a Toro Rosso race-seat.

"We expect a decision soon," he told Autosport

"For the team it's really important to make a decision and to try to have a test before Christmas with the proper drivers for next year.

"But up to now I don't know anything. I just try to do my best, it's the only thing I can do."

"i say sato and bourdais. sato = lots of experience which the team can do with and also bourdais has a year of f1 to go plus the added benefit of knowing the team. he can help the team improve from last year perhaps by letting them know what to make different or what works best. i dont think red bull will be happy with playing second fiddle to them a second year so will not help them with that aspect. "
