Jense: A positive start to 2009

Thursday 20th November 2008

Jenson Button is looking forward to next year's Championship after spending two days this past week testing various 2009 specifications.

The Brit was in action at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, where he focused on the development for 2009, running a modified RA108 on slick tyres.

"It's nice to be back in a car that I enjoy driving," said the Honda driver, who has yet to sign a new deal for next season.

"Taking a lot of the downforce off and running on slick tyres suits my driving style a lot more than grooved tyres."

Button was consistently in the top eight during the test, afterwards saying he had "fun" working with the new 2009 specifications.

"I've had a fun couple of days and it's been very useful as we have tested many things which should help us with the new car," he continued.

"It's been a positive start to 2009 already and I'm very pleased.

"I've just got to keep pushing the team hard now to get the improvements that we are hoping to achieve for next year."

"If I remember correctly, he said much the same thing in 2008, and 2007, and 2006, and...."

"jense will do the same in 2009 as he did in 2008, that is nothing, i doubt even giving him the seat in a decent motor would do anything, the other guys are already snarling at kimi and hams back wheels, sadly i think jense has had his day, but eh will be good to hear his array of excuses.."

"he's starting to sound like coulthard & we all know what happened to him once he was not in a top team"
