Mugello: Rossi in action for Ferrari

Friday 21st November 2008

MotoGP Champion Valentino Rossi was back behind the wheel of a F1 car at Mugello on Thursday where the Italian put the F2008 through its paces.

The Italian, known as Il Dottore (The Doctor) to his fans, had the opportunity to drive a F1 car for the first time without traction control.

And the day was a solid one for Rossi, who completed 51 laps around the tight and twisty circuit. His best time was a 1:22.5.

Rossi will continue running at Mugello on Friday.

"Wow, can you imagine a series where drivers had to compete in F1 cars, rally cars and on superbikes. That would be really cool...."

"Strange as he was only 1.2 seconds slower than shumi in 2005. Must be the traction control."
